Where does one turn to when there is no direction? Pastor Manuel Mukes - founder of Bound 4 Glory Ministries - turned to music and the streets of New Orleans. Pastor Mukes found structure in creating his own record label Smoke 1 Records. After making a name for himself and his featured artist Tre-8, Pastor Mukes entered into a deal with rap Mogul Master P. to create a project that sold over 100,000 units. Smoke 1 records also collaborated with Rap-a-Lot records on Scarface's multi-platinum album "My Homies."

While Pastor Mukes was successful, he was not attaining success in a manner God would have him do so. Through an array of events including being shot several times in the chest, everything Pastor Mukes' successes had brought him dwindled away. It seems this would be the point Pastor Mukes turns his life around, right? Not at all. He admits he was "never in church and God wasn't on my mind even when I was shot in front of my sons." Pastor Mukes went to church one day for the sole purpose of taking his sister so that he could use the car. God had a different agenda.

"I knew it was God." This is what Pastor Mukes said of what was spoken over his life before he left church that Sunday. "This guy did not know me but he was saying everything that was going on in my life," he explains. It was also prophesied that if he gave his life to God, his family would follow. His whole family has indeed dedicated their lives to Christ. As Pastor Mukes was reborn, so was his record label. Hence the birth of Bound 4 Glory Ministries, which he and his wife oversee.

Bound 4 Glory Ministries, which is now based in Houston, Texas has a host of artists including, Yung Anointed (the baby of the bunch), Zeeda (winner of Female Rap Artist of the Year at the 2006 Texas Holy Hip Hop Awards), and ProzperaD - last month's featured artist. B4G's mission is to save souls while also making it known "there's more to music than what the secular world has to offer."

Understanding that children need Godly alternatives, PastorMukes makes it a point to offer things of interest in a Christian setting. In conjunction with his church ministry of the same name, Pastors Manuel and Tanika Mukes host a variety of events including their Annual Christ Crazy Concerts. Also coming soon is the B4G Spot - a Christian club located in Houston, Tx 4508 Hwy 6 North. The reason for the latest endeavor is to let the youth know "serving God is not boring," Pastor Mukes says.

Bound 4 Glory Records is not only providing music, but creating environments where young people can grow in spirit. Whether it is at Bound 4 Glory Ministries youth service on 4th Sundays or a Friday night at the B4G Spot,  Pastor Manuel Mukes wants to make sure the youth are in Christian company. Too often "people forget about the children," Mukes says. This allows them to easily be lead astray. However, with the continuous efforts of Bound 4 Glory Ministries more youth will be lead correctly - to the Jesus. Not to mention, they can listen to B4G's artists along the way!
